A Russian story with beautiful illustrations throughout the book – The Tale of Tsarevich Ivan and Grey Wolf will mesmerise one in an instant. The tale portrays a handsome hero – Tsarevich Ivan and his faithful friend – Grey Wolf embarking a strange yet an equally dangerous journey.
Tsarevich Ivan is a young attractive prince out on a search for a Fire-Bird stealing golden apples from his father’s (the King’s) favourite garden. In order to acquire this Fire-Bird and present it to his awaiting father, Tsarevich Ivan leaves after his elder brothers, each taking a different path.
Tsarevich Ivan faces tremendous perils, temptations, ordeals and even death. One thing leads to another and Tsarevich Ivan finds himself combating even greater hazards. He also meets the love of his life, yet his treacherous folks snatch her away. However, his faithful, intelligent and prompt friend, the Grey Wolf aides him at every stage and guides him marvellously.
Written in a poetic style and a humorous touch, the book entertains the reader thoroughly. It aptly shows the value of achieving through merit, victory over evil and devilish ides meeting dead ends. Themes of love, friendship, greed, betrayal, magic and suspense are well expressed. A sure-shot delightful read!
